Medicine India is an open-access, peer-reviewed, multispeciality journal committed to publishing high-quality articles in the field of medicine and its branches like general medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, nephrology, and so on. Our aim is to cover the whole spectrum of medical sciences from basic sciences like anatomy, physiology to clinical branches, including medical and surgical specialties. The journal is owned by Heart India Charitable Trust and published by the Scientific Scholar.

Role of The Journal/Society

  • Editorial Process and Direction: The Heart India Charitable Trust plays a central role in the editorial direction of the journal Medicine India. Specifically:
  • Editorial Board Appointment: The Heart India Charitable Trust appoints the Editor-in-Chief and oversees the composition of the editorial board.
  • Editorial Policy and Scope: The aims and scope of the journal are determined by the Heart India Charitable Trust in consultation with the editorial board to ensure alignment with the Association’s mission and the needs for the community.
  • Peer Review Process and Final Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief, who is appointed by and reports to the Heart India Charitable Trust manages the peer review process, makes final decisions on manuscripts, and ensures editorial independence and scientific integrity.
  • Strategic Direction: Major decisions regarding journal strategy, policy updates, or editorial initiatives are made under the guidance of the Heart India Charitable Trust Executive Committee.

Role of Scientific Scholar

Scientific Scholar serves solely as the publishing partner, providing publishing infrastructure, manuscript management system, website hosting, copyediting, production, and distribution services to support the journal’s publication process. Scientific Scholar does not influence or participate in the editorial decisions or the peer review process.

Review Process

The Medicine India (MedIndia) has a highly rigorous double-blinded peer-review process that makes sure that manuscripts are scientifically accurate, relevant, novel and important. Authors disclose all conflicts of interest, affiliations and financial disclosures such that the published content is not biased.

In-house submissions that contain the work of any editorial board member, are not allowed to be reviewed by that editorial board member and all decisions regarding this manuscript are made by an independent editor. In addition, these manuscripts are reviewed by the two external reviewers. This is also disclosed in the published manuscript under the section of Conflict of Interest.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal uses plagiarism check software (iThenticate) on the Editor’s and Reviewer’s panel in the manuscript management system which is used to check and control Plagiarism for each article. Any manuscript, that is found to have plagiarism is rejected.

Archival Policy

We use PORTICO for our third-party repository for all articles published with us. All our manuscripts are assigned a DOI number from CROSSREF, and we are members of Crossref ( https://crossref.org).

Medicine India is an open-access journal, and manuscripts published are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike 4.0 License (CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0), which allows others to remix, transform, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

Ahead of Print Policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. The Medicine India (MedIndia) has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

The Medicine India (MedIndia) is a semiannual publication and published manuscripts in the journal can be read and downloaded by readers all over the world without any charges or fees.
